Walking Tours

Lace up your walking shoes and head downtown to experience our public art up close and personal.

The Downtown Omaha Art Walk, developed by the Omaha Public Art Commission with special assistance from Clark Creative Group, takes participants on a tour of 22 works nestled in and around Gene Leahy Mall, the civic heart of our city. Download the brochure, grab some friends and take a self-guided tour whenever it suits you.

The Omaha Public Art Commission presented its first guided public art tour in the spring of 2009 featuring downtown works, and additional tours are planned.

If you're in the mood to do some additional public art sleuthing on your own, may we suggest the following sites:

  • Joslyn Art Museum Sculpture Garden, 2200 Dodge St.
  • Creighton University, 2500 California Plaza
  • Omaha/Douglas Civic Center, 1819 Farnam St.
  • Heartland of America Park, Lewis & Clark Landing, Bob Kerrey Pedestrian Bridge and Miller's Landing, 800 Douglas St.

When you're done, share your experience with others, and encourage them to do the same. If you'd like to sponsor a public art walking tour in your part of the city, contact Larry Ferguson, chair of the Omaha Public Art Commission, at info@publicartomaha.org.
